Liking our direction with Treedia Labs & Podcast.com

09.07.07

We are right in the thick of this – normalizing – optimizing – mobilizing – localizing – globalizing – monetizing the V.I.T.A.L RSS/OPML media (video/image/text/audio/link) for personal consumption via an open platform – the web of data – 3.0 – pretty cool.symbian

This One Time at Podcamp…..

09.04.07

Cool promo idea from the folks at PodCampAZ – Here it is…..

This one time at podcamp…

I know, Labor Day is suppost to be a day off, but I got this bug in my butt to get some promotions moving for PodCamp. So based on the suggestions on the Google Group, I busted out a new promotion. I need your help to make it successful. Here’s how it works:

  • Make a 10 second (or less) video clip that falls in line with the phrase “This one time at PodCamp…” and can be closed up by the phrase “…it could happen”
  • Upload it to the box account at: ThisOneTimeAtPodCamp.com
  • Do it by October 1st

I’m so excited about the promo videos. I can’t wait to see them. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any right here.

Thanks!

The subdomain system for brands to build their own customized social multimedia networking podcast site to amplify podcasts is coming along – check out the progress here – demo.podcast.comThe great thing about generic term domain names is that when the subdomain is a brand name, your brand doesn’t get diluted by our domain name!

MOTO Z8 & Podcast.com

05.15.07

In New York City Ed Zander and Motorola rolled out their new line of industry defining mobile phones. The MOTO Z8 is truly a ‘media monster’ – we have been using a pre-release handset and demoing the Podcast.com service. The VC crowd here in Boston liked it very much. And I have to say so did we! Kosso now has it in Old Blighty.

Motorola’s press release is here.

In addition to Podcast.com coming pre-loaded our friends at Mote will include, in-box, a full-length film – “The Bourne Identity” from Universal Pictures – and applications from BSkyB and content from CNN. Also games from Electronic Arts’ will soon become available for download. So we are in good company.

Really Fast Video Podcast

08.20.06

My friend Kelly Warner, President of Kema was asking about podcasting and video podcasting last night – so rather than explaning we just did one….. in about 2 mins – Here it is – no prep – bad light – loud porch – but he’ll get the idea from this – The next one will be shot like a pro – Kema is worldwide, they have smart marketing people…;)

Podcast Users Outnumber Bloggers

07.13.06

In an article on MediaPost by Wendy Davis she reports that “Nielsen/NetRatings research is showing more than 9.2 million Web users, or 6.6 percent of U.S. adult Web users, have downloaded an audio podcast in the last 30 days, compared to 6.7 million users (4.8 percent) who published blogs in that time.”

mmmmm…..curious comparison – as my Gramother would say to me “What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?” Apples and oranges I would say.

Nielson goes on……

“They also have reported that around 5.6 million online adults (4 percent) have downloaded a video podcast in the last 30 days”.”Podcast downloaders tend to be younger than the online population at large. Web users between the ages 18 and 24 are 72 percent more likely than the average Web user to listen to audio podcasts and 47 percent more likely to view video podcasts. Users older than 45 were less likely than average to listen or view podcasts.”
mmmm….alright that’s interesting stuff – this certainly adds credence to our thought that people are very comfortable with ‘unchunked’ content in any form and want to be their own ‘smart reconstructors’ and interact with media on their terms. – see the article here.

It’s a nice headline though…..remember these are the folks that brought you The Nielson Box…….what a way to arbritrate visual thought….not. Glad we are working on smarter applications here @ Podcast.com
