after a few days in the Bahamas celebrating my 10th anniversary with my lovely bride I am back at it building “The 3rd Zone” with Kosso and the Podcast.com crew…last weekend was the Beyond Broadcast convene at Berkman and this weekend OPML Camp - both thought provoking events.

kudos to our friend Jake Shapiro for putting on a great event at The Berkman Center for Interenet and Society - Beyond Broadcast was an inspiring two day convergence of Public - Commerical - Old - New Media folks with passion for inventing the future. I’ll post more on this after I return from down south…..way south.

I had my first spin around Second Life the other day and it was quite impressive. We created The RSS Platform by Podcast.com and found many podcasters and people interested in podcasting floating in the neighborhood. It struck me as almost an embedded web. Amazing how they came to find Podcast.com.

well…Flickr came through….sort of. Half the photos are there…the rest MIA.

Robyn Tippins of Sleepyblogger and The Podcast Roundtable compares and contrasts Podcast.com and Podshow. Once our doors are open the difference will be very obvious. The key point to remember here is that we are both driving the democratization of media and the better we do at bringing about that change the more listeners ( and viewers will become engaged. Personally I co-founded this service because I lost complete interest in the Mainstream Media. It is broken and needs to be fixed and that’s what entrepreneurs with passion do…..solve problems for people and fix things.

I opened a flickr account and posted a few photos….with a generous supply of user created 2nd order metadata…..their system wasted no time in placing contexual ads against one photo description with ‘BVI’ in the text. The problem is that the photos are still not available to the public. It seems they are taking care of themselves via monetazation very quickly, but no such speedy service for the supplier of their CGM ( consumer generated media )….let’s monitor this and see how long ‘the value’ of the service takes to trickle to the public. Stay Tuned.
