<p>Mr. Beatty is currently an investor and co-founder of <a title="Podcast.com" target="_blank" href="http://podcast.com">Podcast.com</a> &#038; <a title="Treedia Labs" target="_blank" href="http://treedia.com">Treedia Labs</a>; angel investor in wireless start-ups and <a target="_blank" title="Ribcraft USA - Rigid Inflatable Boats" href="http://ribcraftusa.com">Ribcraft USA</a> since the acquisition of his latest company. He was a founding partner and Vice-President in Information Please LLC, formed in 1997 and acquired by Family Education Network (familyeducation.com) pre-IPO September 1999. <a target="_blank" title="Infoplease.com" href="http://www.infoplease.com/">Infoplease.com</a> grew from concept to 8 million<img align="right" src="http://wildmeridian.com/wm4.gif" /> page-views and 1 million unique visitors per month in less than 300 days with zero marketing budget. The site was in the Internet Top 400 and won numerous awards for style, content and utility. In 1992 he co-founded ProCD, publishers of award-winning Select Phone and other telephone directory &#038; mapping software.</p>
<p>Mr. Beatty led Product Management, Channel Development and Marketing. He also held senior management positions in Sales, Software Development, and Database Development. The company won numerous technical excellence, marketing and packaging awards and was a top ten-software bestseller under his direction. The firm was acquired in 1996 and was the 53rd largest software company in the United States.</p>
<p>During the past 19 years Mr. Beatty has held positions in electronic publishing companies focusing on product development, channel development, marketing, software engineering and sales: Silverplatter Information LTD, Phonedisc USA Corporation and Compact Publications. In 1992 the Information Industry Association recognized him with an IMMY marketing award. Mr. Beatty holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree from Macalester College and attended New York University Film School and The School for Visual Arts. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for <a target="_blank" title="Tower School" href="http://www.towerschool.org/">Tower School</a> in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
